Ecclesiastes 10:18

By indolence the building decays; and through idleness of the hands the house collapses.

Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her own hands.

The lazy man will not plow because of the cold. He will beg during harvest and have nothing.

The hand of the diligent will bear rule. The lazy will be under forced labor.

The desire of the lazy killed him for his hands refuse to work.

For the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty and drowsiness will clothe a man with rags.

I went by the field of the lazy man, and by the vineyard of the man lacking understanding.

We desire that every one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope down to the end.

Yes, for this very reason you do your part with all diligence. Supply virtue to your faith. Add knowledge to your virtue.
