I went again in search of wisdom and of foolish ways. What can the man do that comes after the king? Only what he has already done.

I returned and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun. I saw the tears of the oppressed for they had no one to comfort them. The oppressors had power but they had no one to comfort them.

Once again my people will see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between the person who serves God and the one who does not.

That the race

So David overcame the Philistine with his leather band and a stone. The Philistine was wounded and laying on the ground. But David had no sword in his hand.

Zeruiah's three sons were there: Joab, Abishai, and Asahel. Asahel was as fast on his feet as a wild gazelle.

Absalom and all the people of Israel said: The advice of Hushai from Archi's family is better than Ahithophel's advice. Jehovah commanded Ahithophel's good advice to be defeated in order to ruin Absalom.

A mighty army does not save the king. A warrior is not delivered by great strength.

That is why arrogance is their necklace and violence covers them like clothing.

He finds no joy in strong horses, nor do brave soldiers please him.

This is what Jehovah says: Do not let wise people brag about their wisdom. Do not let strong people brag about their strength. Do not let rich people brag about their riches.

The infantry cannot flee. The warriors cannot escape. They stumble and fall in the north by the Euphrates River.

Flight will perish from the swift! The strong will not increase his strength. The mighty will not save himself.

But

The wise man's eyes are in his head, but the foolish man walks in darkness. Yet I saw that the same event happens to them all.

I know that whatever God does it will be forever. Nothing can be added to it, nor any thing taken from it. God does it in order that men should reverence (respect) him.

Consider the work of God. Who can make straight what he has made crooked?

Boast no more so proudly. Remove arrogance from your mouth. Jehovah is a God of knowledge, and he measures his actions (deeds).

He sets on high the lowly people. He lifts those who mourn to safety.

If God decided to do nothing at all, no one could criticize him. If he hid his face (refused to assist), we would be helpless.

There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against Jehovah!

Who is able to say something should occur if Jehovah has not ordered it.

All the inhabitants of the earth are considered as nothing. He does according to his will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of earth. None can stop him, or say to him: 'What do you do?'

We were assigned as heirs predetermined according to his purpose. He works all things according to his direction and will.

Because you are wise and understanding, you have made yourself rich. You saved gold and silver in your treasuries.
