But God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us,

Jehovah said: I will make all my goodness pass in front of you. I will call out my name, JEHOVAH. I will be kind to anyone I want to. I will be merciful to anyone I want to.

Do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and long-suffering? Do you not know that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

In him we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.

So in the ages to come he, with Christ Jesus, might show the exceeding (surpassing) (exceptional) riches of his grace with kindness toward us.

Jehovah then passed in front of him and called out: I, Jehovah, am a God who is full of compassion and pity. I am not easily angered and show great love and faithfulness.

Jehovah set his heart on you. He chose you, even though you did not outnumber all the other people. You were the smallest of all nations.

It is not because you have been living right or because you are so honest that you enter to take possession of their land. It is because these people are so wicked that Jehovah your God is forcing them out of your way. It is also because Jehovah wants to confirm the promise he swore to your fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

They would not obey you and gave no thought to the wonders you did among them. They became stubborn and turning away from you. They appointed a leader over themselves to take them back to their prison in Egypt. However, you are a God of forgiveness, full of grace and pity, slow to wrath and great in mercy, and you did not give them up.

A rising of light will visit us from on high because of the tender mercy of our God.

As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so the Son of man must also be lifted up.

But God demonstrates (commends) his own love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

The law came that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased God's loving kindness increased even more.

He says to Moses, I will show mercy to the one I choose to show mercy, and I will feel compassion for the one I choose to feel compassion.

In that way he could make known the riches of his glory upon vessels of mercy that he had prepared in advance for glory.

For there is no difference between Jew and Greek. The same Lord (God) of all is abounding in riches for all who call on him.

To me, the very least of all the holy ones, was given grace (loving divine influence) to preach to the people of the nations the untraceable riches of Christ.

We always have to thank God for you, brothers. Jehovah loves you and we thank God that in the beginning he chose you to be saved through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.

The grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love in Christ Jesus.

God has saved us and called us with a holy calling. This is not according to our works, but according to his purpose and grace that was granted us in Christ Jesus, from all eternity.

When the kindness of God our Savior, and his love toward man, appeared,

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy he gave us a new birth to a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation (atonement) (sacrificial payment) for our sins.
