if, as I take it, you have heard Him and in union with Him have been taught the truth as it is seen in Jesus,

You have heard, indeed, of my former conduct as an adherent of the Jewish religion, how I kept on furiously persecuting the church of God, and tried to destroy it,

because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all God's people,

Of this good news I have been appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher.

The dispensation

yes, on me, the very least of all His people, this unmerited favor was bestowed -- that I might preach as good news to the heathen the boundless riches of Christ,

But in accordance with the measure of Christ's gift, His favor has been bestowed upon each one of us.

But the Lord said to him, "Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name to the heathen and their kings, and to the descendants of Israel.

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul, for the work to which I have called them."

Then He said to me, 'Go, because I am to send you out and far away among the heathen.'"

I will continue to rescue you from the Jewish people and from the heathen to whom I am going to send you,

through whom we have received God's favor and a commission as an apostle in His name to urge upon all the heathen obedience inspired by faith,

Yes, I now am speaking to you who are a part of the heathen peoples. As I am an apostle to the heathen peoples, I am making the most of my ministry to them, to see

Now through the unmerited favor God has shown me I would say to every one of you not to estimate himself above his real value, but to make a sober rating of himself, in accordance with the degree of faith which God has apportioned to him.

And yet, to refresh your memories, I have written you rather freely on some details, because of the unmerited favor shown me by God

As for us apostles, men ought to think of us as ministers of Christ and trustees to handle God's uncovered truths.

For if I do it of my own accord, I get my pay; but if I am unwilling to do it, I still am entrusted with trusteeship.

But when God, who had already set me apart from my birth, and had called me by His unmerited favor,

for He who had been at work in Peter for his apostleship to the Jews had been at work in me too for the apostleship to the heathen --

In it I have been made a minister in accordance with the trusteeship God entrusted to me for you, that I might prove among you the universal message of God,

as measured by the glorious good news of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.

and for which purpose I was appointed a preacher and an apostle -- I am telling the truth, I am not lying, -- a teacher of the heathen in the realm of faith and truth.
