I said: You will not be handed over to them. I beg you to obey Jehovah's message. Then all will go well with you, and your life will be spared.

I request (urge) (implore) you brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

For this reason I urge you to imitate me.

We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making entreaty through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ that you be reconciled to God.

Working together with him we plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain (to no purpose) (in emptiness).

Now I Paul myself entreat you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am of good courage toward you.

I beg you, brothers, become as I am, for I also used to be as you are. You did me no wrong.

Because of love I appeal to you, since I am Paul, the aged. I am also a prisoner of Christ Jesus.

Beloved, I request that you as aliens and strangers abstain from fleshly lust (desires), which causes conflict in you.

Now I ask you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.

Vocation

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling.

We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

I press on toward the goal to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

We pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire of goodness and every work of faith with power.

God has saved us and called us with a holy calling. This is not according to our works, but according to his purpose and grace that was granted us in Christ Jesus, from all eternity.

Holy brothers, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Jesus.

Do not repay evil for evil, or insult for insult. Do just the opposite. For you were called to inherit a blessing.

After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will perfect, establish, and strengthen you.

His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness. This is through the knowledge of him that called us by his own glory and virtue (excellence).
