Exodus 1:5

The total number of Jacob’s descendants was 70; Joseph was already in Egypt.

The total number of persons belonging to Jacob—his direct descendants, not including the wives of Jacob’s sons—who came to Egypt: 66.

Your fathers went down to Egypt, 70 people in all, and now the Lord your God has made you as numerous as the stars of the sky.

So God was good to the midwives, and the people multiplied and became very numerous.

Gideon had 70 sons, his own offspring, since he had many wives.
