For I will pass through the land of Egypt that night, and I will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and on all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the LORD.

So Moses said, "Thus says the LORD: About midnight I will go out in the midst of Egypt,

For when Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, the LORD killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man and the firstborn of animals. Therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all the males that first open the womb, but all the firstborn of my sons I redeem.'

In a moment they die; at midnight the people are shaken and pass away, and the mighty are taken away by no human hand.

For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

The lord smote

for all the firstborn are mine. On the day that I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated for my own all the firstborn in Israel, both of man and of beast. They shall be mine: I am the LORD."

He struck down every firstborn in Egypt, the firstfruits of their strength in the tents of Ham.

and I say to you, "Let my son go that he may serve me." If you refuse to let him go, behold, I will kill your firstborn son.'"

and every firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the slave girl who is behind the handmill, and all the firstborn of the cattle.

Dungeon

They will be gathered together as prisoners in a pit; they will be shut up in a prison, and after many days they will be punished.

He who is bowed down shall speedily be released; he shall not die and go down to the pit, neither shall his bread be lacking.

So they took Jeremiah and cast him into the cistern of Malchiah, the king's son, which was in the court of the guard, letting Jeremiah down by ropes. And there was no water in the cistern, but only mud, and Jeremiah sank in the mud.
