You shall put into the ark the testimony which I shall give you.

In the tent of meeting, outside the veil which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall keep it in order from evening to morning before the Lord; it shall be a perpetual statute throughout their generations for the sons of Israel.

You shall put this altar in front of the veil that is near the ark of the testimony, in front of the

mercy seat that is over the ark of the testimony, where I will meet with you.

When He had finished speaking with him upon Mount Sinai, He gave Moses the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written by the finger of God.

This is the number of the things for the tabernacle, the tabernacle of the testimony, as they were numbered according to the command of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

Then he took the testimony and put it into the ark, and attached the poles to the ark, and put the mercy seat on top of the ark.

But you shall appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all its furnishings and over all that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings, and they shall take care of it; they shall also camp around the tabernacle.

But the Lord said to Moses, “Put back the rod of Aaron before the testimony to be kept as a sign against the

rebels, that you may put an end to their grumblings against Me, so that they will not die.”

Then I turned and came down from the mountain and put the tablets in the ark which I had made; and there they are, as the Lord commanded me.”

There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, where the Lord made a covenant with the sons of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
