And it happened in these days when Moses was waxed great, that he went out unto his brethren and looked on their burdens, and spied an Egyptian smiting one of his brethren, an Hebrew.

By faith Moses, when he was of a great age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter,

And he set taskmasters over them, to keep them under with burdens. And they built unto Pharaoh treasure cities: Pithom and Rameses.

Then the LORD said, "I have surely seen the trouble of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry, which they have of their taskmasters. For I know their sorrow,

They must have more work laid upon them, that they may labour therein, and then will they not turn themselves to false words."

And the officers of the children of Israel which Pharaoh's taskmasters had set over them, were beaten. And it was said unto them, "Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your task in making brick, both yesterday and today, as well as in times past?"

Or is not this rather the fast that I have chosen? To loose wicked bonds, and to unbind bundles of oppression? And to let the bruised go free? And that ye should break all manner yokes?

Come unto me all ye that labor, and are laden, and I will ease you.

"The spirit of the Lord upon me, because he hath anointed me; To preach the gospel to the poor he hath sent me; And to heal which are broken hearted: To preach deliverance to the captive; And sight to the blind; And freely to set at liberty them that are bruised;

And Moses was learned in all manner wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in deeds and in words.
