Laws About Slaves

¹ Now these are the judgments which you shall set before them. ²  If you buy a Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. ³ If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he was married, then his wife shall go out with him.

Seventh Year

Deuteronomy 15:12-15

And if your brother, a Hebrew man, or a Hebrew woman, be sold unto you, and serve you six years; then in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you.

Deuteronomy 15:18

It shall not seem hard unto you, when you send him away free from you; for he has been worth a double hired servant to you, in serving you six years: and the LORD your God shall bless you in all that you do.

Genesis 27:28

Therefore God give you of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and wine:
