And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall surely be punished.

Thou shalt not wrest justice: thou shalt not respect persons; neither shalt thou take a bribe; for a bribe doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.

Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought into bondage already : neither is it in our power to help it; for other men have our fields and our vineyards.

If I have despised the cause of my man-servant or of my maid-servant, When they contended with me;

For he that maketh inquisition for blood remembereth them; He forgetteth not the cry of the poor.

Thou hast seen it ; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: The helpless committeth himself unto thee; Thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.

For he will deliver the needy when he crieth, And the poor, that hath no helper.

Rob not the poor, because he is poor; Neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:

And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, and forbear threatening: knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no respect of persons with him.

Masters, render unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.
