Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up.
Many nations have now assembled against you. They say, "Jerusalem must be desecrated, so we can gloat over Zion!"
For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to wage war; the city will be taken, its houses plundered, and the women raped. Then half of the city will go into exile, but the remainder of the people will not be taken away.
As the sea
Your rowers have brought you into surging waters. The east wind has wrecked you in the heart of the seas.
The waves roar, O Lord, the waves roar, the waves roar and crash.
He gave the order for a windstorm, and it stirred up the waves of the sea.
At that time they will growl over their prey, it will sound like sea waves crashing against rocks. One will look out over the land and see the darkness of disaster, clouds will turn the light into darkness.
Its soldiers are armed with bows and spears. They are cruel and show no mercy. They sound like the roaring sea as they ride forth on their horses. Lined up in formation like men going into battle to attack you, Daughter Zion.'"
The sea has swept over Babylon. She has been covered by a multitude of its waves.
"And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth nations will be in distress, anxious over the roaring of the sea and the surging waves.
