You became famous in every nation because of your beauty. Your beauty was perfect because I gave you my glory,' declares the Lord Jehovah.

I have allowed you to remain, in order to show you my power and in order to proclaim my name through all the earth.

There is no exaltation from the east, or from the west, or from the desert.

He changes the times and the seasons. He removes kings, and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to the discerning.

It is you O king! You have grown and become strong. Your greatness has grown, and reaches to heaven. Your dominion is to the end of the earth.

But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened with pride he dealt proudly. He was deposed from his kingly throne and they took his glory from him:

Someday, I, Jehovah, will cut a tender twig from the top of a cedar tree. I will then plant it on the peak of Israel's tallest mountain, where it will grow strong branches and produce large fruit.

The trees went out to anoint a king over them. They said to the olive tree: 'Be our king.'

Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it! Then all the trees of the forest will rejoice.

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

Wail, You fir tree, for the cedar has fallen, because the majestic ones are destroyed. Wail you oaks of Bashan, for the strong forest has come down.

Envied

He possessed flocks and herds and a great household. The Philistines envied him.

Joseph's brothers were jealous of him. His father kept thinking about the whole matter.

Saul saw how wisely David behaved. This made him fear him.

Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?

I have learned why people work so hard to succeed. It is because they envy the things their neighbors have. But it is vanity! It is like chasing the wind.

Or do you think the scripture speaks to no purpose? Does the attitude of the heart (mental disposition) that he induced to live in us cause us to envy?
