Give not

Do not make any agreement with them or with their gods.

You might take some of his daughters for your sons, and his daughters might commit spiritual immorality (fornication) with their gods and cause your sons also to commit spiritual immorality with their gods.

Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons.

If you are disloyal and join with the nations that are still left among you and intermarry with them,

Nor seek their peace

Never seek peace or try to help the Ammonites or the Moabites as long as you live.

A prophet, Jehu son of Hanani, went to meet the king. He said to him: Do you think it is right to help those who are wicked and to take the side of those who hate Jehovah? What you have done has brought Jehovah's anger upon you.

Do not receive anyone into your house who comes to you and does not bring this teaching. Give him no greeting!

That ye may

These are the commands, decrees and laws Jehovah your God commanded me to teach you. Obey them after you enter the land and take possession of it.

Be strong and courageous for you will help this people inherit the land. This is the land I swore to give to their fathers.

And eat

If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land.

And leave it

Abraham will definitely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed in him.

Praise Jehovah! Blessed is the person who respects Jehovah and is happy to obey his commandments.

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children. The wealth of the sinner is preserved for the righteous.

The righteous man walks in his integrity. He blesses his children.
