(For Solomon had made a brazen scaffold, of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands towards heaven,)

O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed.

And Moses said to him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands to the LORD; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know how that the earth is the LORD'S.

And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands towards Heaven:

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

I stretch forth my hands to thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.

And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you: yes, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
