Tell me, ye who are wishing to be under law, do ye not hear the law?
Jesus saith to them, "Did ye never read in the Scriptures, 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same was made head of a corner; this was from the Lord, and it is marvellous in our eyes?'
But Jesus, answering, said to them, "Ye deceive yourselves, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God;
For, if ye were believing Moses, ye would believe Me; for he wrote concerning Me.
Jesus answered them, "Has it not been written in your law, 'I said, ye are gods?'
The multitude, therefore, answered Him, "We have heard out of the law that the Christ abideth forever; and how sayest Thou that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is This Son of Man?"
but this they do, that the word may be fulfilled, which has been written in their law, 'They hated Me without a cause.'
Now we know that whatsoever the law says, it speaks to those under the law; that every mouth may be stopped, and that the whole world may be under the sentence of God;
For, when we were in the flesh, the passions of sins, which were through the law, were working in our members to bring forth fruit to death.
What, then, shall we say? that gentiles who were not following after righteous obtained righteousness, but a righteousness which is of faith;
for, being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God;
For as many as are of works of law are under a curse; for it has been written, "Cursed is every one who continues not in all the things written in the book of the law, to do them."
But, before the faith came, we were kept guarded under law, being shut up to the faith about to be revealed.
but, after having known God, or rather having been known by God, how are ye turning back again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which ye desire to be in bondage again?
