So Israel began his journey, taking with him all that he had. When he came to Beer Sheba he offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.

"I will grant this people favor with the Egyptians, so that when you depart you will not leave empty-handed.

I have also heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.

So the Lord said to Moses, "See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.

Also, take your flocks and your herds, just as you have requested, and leave. But bless me also."

You, however, the Lord has selected and brought from Egypt, that iron-smelting furnace, to be his special people as you are today.

And he brought signs and great, devastating wonders on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on his whole family before our very eyes.

For the Lord our God took us and our fathers out of slavery in the land of Egypt and performed these awesome miracles before our very eyes. He continually protected us as we traveled and when we passed through nations.

When Jacob entered Egypt, your ancestors cried out to the Lord. The Lord sent Moses and Aaron, and they led your ancestors out of Egypt and settled them in this place.

"You saw the affliction of our ancestors in Egypt, and you heard their cry at the Red Sea.

Against you -- you above all -- I have sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. So you are just when you confront me; you are right when you condemn me.

when he performed his awesome deeds in Egypt, and his acts of judgment in the region of Zoan.

They executed his miraculous signs among them, and his amazing deeds in the land of Ham.

He performed awesome deeds and acts of judgment in your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.

For the Lord vindicates his people, and has compassion on his servants.
