behold now, thy slave has found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast showed unto me in saving my life; but I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die.

Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister, that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee.

Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that same day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?

And David said in his heart, In the end I shall be killed some day by the hand of Saul; there is nothing better for me than that I should escape once and for all into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more within the borders of Israel; so shall I escape out of his hand.

And they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt and have taken hold upon other gods and have worshipped them and served them; for this the LORD has brought upon them all this evil.

I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.

I waited patiently for the LORD, and he inclined unto me and heard my cry.

Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless the name of his holiness.
