Then Jesse said to his son David, "Please take for your brothers an ephah of this roasted grain and these ten loaves of bread, and bring [them] quickly to the camp for your brothers.

"Behold, I am sending you out like sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

So the owner of the vineyard said, 'What should I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will respect him.'

Then Yahweh called out to Samuel and he said, "Here I am!"

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
