Summary

These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report.

The generations

This is the account of when Jehovah (YHWH) God created the heavens and the earth.

This is the written genealogy of Adam. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God.

This is the ACCOUNT OF NOAH. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time. He walked with God.

This is the genealogy of Shem, Ham, and Japheth, Noah's sons, who also had sons after the flood.

Wives

Then Rachel let Jacob marry Bilhah. Jacob slept with Bilhah.

While Israel lived in that region, Reuben went to bed with his father's concubine Bilhah. Israel heard about it. Jacob had twelve sons.

Evil report

Eli was very old. He heard everything his sons did to Israel. He heard how they slept with the women who served at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.

The world has no reason to hate you. But it hates me because I testify that its works are evil.

The house of Chloe told me, my brothers, that there are disputes among you.

It is reported that there is sexual immorality among you. This type of fornication is not even found among the people of the nations (who do not know God). There is a man who has his father's wife.

For first of all, when you come together in the congregation, I hear that there are divisions among you and I partly believe it.
