Then they sat down to eat a meal. And as they raised their eyes and looked, behold, a caravan of Ishmaelites was coming from Gilead, with their camels bearing

“A multitude of camels will cover you,

All those from Sheba will come;
They will bring gold and frankincense,
And will bear good news of the praises of the Lord.

He sent a man before them,

I said to them, “If it is good in your sight, give me my wages; but if not, never mind!” So they weighed out thirty shekels of silver as my wages.

and said, “What are you willing to give me to

betray Him to you?” And they weighed out thirty pieces of silver to him.

Then that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: “And

they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of the one whose price had been set by the sons of Israel;

“The patriarchs became jealous of Joseph and sold him into Egypt. Yet God was with him,
