for ye both sympathized with those in bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your possessions; knowing that ye yourselves have a better possession and an abiding one.
The Lord give mercy to the house of Onesiphorus; because he ofttimes refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain;

treasuring up for themselves a good foundation for the future, that they may lay hold on that which is really life.
wherein I am suffering hardship, even to bonds, as a malefactor; but the Word of God has not become bound.
henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, will recompense to me in that day, and not only to me, but also to all those who have loved His appearing.
But now they long for a better country, that is, a heavenly one; wherefore, God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God; for He prepared for them a city.
