Hebrews 12:8

Now if you are without any discipline, in which all sons share, then you are illegitimate and not God's sons.

God is indeed good to Israel, to those pure in heart.

For I suffer all day long and I am punished every morning.

For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he punishes every son he accepts."

Resist him and be firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering.
