For we needed such a High Priest, holy, innocent, unstained, far removed from sinful men, and elevated far above the very heavens,

"Glory to God in highest heaven! And peace on earth to men who please him."

Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and thus to enter into His glory?"

For God once publicly offered Him in His death as a sacrifice of reconciliation through faith, to demonstrate His own justice (for in His forbearance God had passed over men's former sins);

so that we might praise the splendid favor which He has shown us in His beloved Son.

to show, throughout the coming ages, the boundless generosity of His unmerited favor shown us in His goodness to us through Christ Jesus.

so that the many phases of God's wisdom may now through the church be made known to the rulers and authorities in heaven,

It was made known to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in their searching for these things that have already been told to you by those who through the Holy Spirit sent from heaven brought you the good news. The angels long to take a peep into these things.

yet for us there is but one God, the Father, who is the source of all things and the goal of our living, and but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom everything was made and through whom we live.

This has all originated with God, for He through Christ has reconciled me to Himself and has given me the ministry of reconciliation.

For all who are guided by God's Spirit are God's sons.

Just as He says in Hosea: "I will call a people that was not mine, my people, and her who was not beloved, my beloved,

I will be a Father to you, and you will be sons and daughters of mine,' The Lord Almighty said."

For all of you are sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

He foreordained us to become His sons by adoption through Christ Jesus, to carry out the happy choice of His will,

See what wonderful love the Father has bestowed on us in letting us be called God's children, and that is what we are! This is why the world does not know what we are, because it has never come to know Him.

After this I looked, and there was a vast throng that no one could count from every nation, tribe, people, and tongue, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands,

Glory

so as to make known the riches of His glory for the objects of His mercy, whom He prepared in ages past to share His glory --

rather, we are setting forth a wisdom that came from God, once a covered secret but now uncovered, which God marked off as His plan for bringing us to glory.

And all of us, with faces uncovered, because we continue to reflect like mirrors the splendor of the Lord, are being transformed into likeness to Him, from one degree of splendor to another, since it comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

For this slight and momentary sorrow continues to accumulate for me a solid and eternal glory far beyond any comparison,

When Christ, who is our life, appears, you too will appear to be glorified in fellowship with Him.

For this reason I am bearing anything for the sake of His chosen people, so that they too may obtain the salvation that comes through Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory.

So, as a joint-elder with them, a witness of the suffering borne by Christ, and a sharer of the glory that is to be uncovered, I beg the elders among you,

Although He was a Son, He learned from what He suffered how to obey,

But He said to them: "Go and tell that fox, 'Here I am, driving out demons and performing cures, today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will finish these tasks.

Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and thus to enter into His glory?"

As soon as Jesus took the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" Then He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
