John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.

Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven.

For I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established;

If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of God’s grace which was given to me according to the working of His power.

But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.

Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was bestowed on you through prophetic utterance with the laying on of hands by the

presbytery.

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

Partakers

God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders and by various miracles and by

gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.

And God, who knows the heart, testified to them giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us;

This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by

hearing with faith?
