Hebrews 9:17

A will is in force after a person dies. Otherwise it is not in effect at all while the one who provided it lives.

Brothers, I speak like a man speaks: Though it is only a man's covenant, yet when it has been confirmed, no one makes it void, or adds to it.

Then Israel said to Joseph: I am about to die. God will be with you. He will bring you back to the land of your fathers.

Peace I leave with you! My peace I give to you. I do not give as the world gives to you. Do not let your heart be troubled or full of fear.
