Hosea's Marriage And Children

2 The beginning of the word of Yahweh with Hosea, was, - that Yahweh said unto Hosea, Go take thee a woman of unchastity, and the children of unchastity, for, unchastely indeed, hath the land been going away from following Yahweh.

2 The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.

2 When the Lord first spoke through Hosea, the Lord said to Hosea, “(G)Go, take to yourself a wife of harlotry and have children of harlotry; for (H)the land commits flagrant harlotry, (a)forsaking the Lord.”

2 When the Lord first spoke to Hosea, He said this to him:Go and marry a promiscuous wife(F)and have children of promiscuity, for the land is committing blatant acts of promiscuityby abandoning the Lord.

2 When a message from the LORD came to Hosea, the LORD told him, "Go marry a prostitute and have children with her, because the land is prostituting itself by departing from the LORD."

3 So he went and took Gomer, daughter of Diblaim, - and she conceived and bare him a son.

3 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son.

3 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and (I)bore him a son.

3 So he went and married Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.(G)

3 So call your brothers "Ammi,' and your sisters "Ruhamah.'"

4 Then said Yahweh unto him, Call his name Jezreel: for, yet a little, and I will visit the bloodshed of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.

4 And the LORD said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.

4 And the Lord said to him, “Name him (J)Jezreel; for yet a little while, and (K)I will (b)punish the house of Jehu for the bloodshed of Jezreel, and (L)I will put an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel.

4 Then the Lord said to him:Name him Jezreel,(H) for in a little whileI will bring the bloodshed of Jezreel(I)on the house of Jehu(J)and put an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel.

4 So he went out and married Diblaim's daughter Gomer. She conceived with him and gave birth to a son.

5 And it shall come to pass, in that day, that I will break the bow of Israel, in the vale of Jezreel.

5 And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.

5 On that day I will (M)break the bow of Israel in the (N)valley of Jezreel.”

5 On that day I will break the bow of Israel(K)in the Valley of Jezreel.(a)(L)

5 The LORD told Hosea, "Name the child "Jezreel,' because in a little while I'll avenge the blood that was shed by Jehu's dynasty at Jezreel. I'll put an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel.

6 Then conceived she again and bare a daughter, and he said to him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah "Uncompassionated" , - for, not again any more, will I have compassion upon the house of Israel, that I should, forgive, them;

6 And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Loruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.

6 Then she conceived again and gave birth to a daughter. And (c)the Lord said to him, “Name her (d)Lo-ruhamah, for I will no longer (O)have compassion on the house of Israel, that I would ever forgive them.

6 She conceived again and gave birth to a daughter, and the Lord said to him:Name her No Compassion,(b)for I will no longer have compassionon the house of Israel.I will certainly take them away.

6 At that time I'll shatter the military strength of Israel in the Valley of Jezreel."

7 but, on the house of Judah, will I have compassion, and I will save them, as Yahweh their God, - but will not save them by bow, or by sword, or by battle, by horses, or by horsemen.

7 But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.

7 But I will have (P)compassion on the house of Judah and (Q)deliver them by the Lord their God, and will not deliver them by (R)bow, sword, battle, horses or horsemen.”

7 But I will have compassion on the house of Judah,(M)and I will deliver them by the Lord their God.(N)I will not deliver them by bow, sword, or war,or by horses and cavalry.(O)

7 Gomer conceived again and gave birth to a daughter, so the LORD told Hosea, "Name her "Lo-ruhamah,' because I will no longer be showing mercy to the house of Israel, nor will I forgive them.

8 And, when she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son.

8 Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son.

8 When she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived and gave birth to a son.

8 After Gomer had weaned No Compassion, she conceived and gave birth to a son.

8 But I'll have mercy on the house of Judah, and I'll save them by the LORD their God I will not save them by the bow, by the sword, by battle, by horses, or by cavalry."

9 Then said he, Call his name Lo-ammi, - for ye are Lo-ammi "No people of mine" , and, I, will not be yours.

9 Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.

9 And (e)the Lord said, “Name him (f)Lo-ammi, for you are not My people and I am not (g)your God.”

9 Then the Lord said:Name him Not My People,(c)for you are not My people, and I will not be your God.(d)(P)

9 After Gomer had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived again and gave birth to a son,

God's Promise To Israel

10 Yet shall the number of the sons of Israel become like the sand of the sea, which can neither he measured, nor numbered, - and it shall come to pass, in the place where it used to be said to them, No people of mine, are ye, it shall be said to them, Sons of a Living God!

10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

10 (h)Yet the number of the sons of IsraelWill be like the (S)sand of the sea,Which cannot be measured or numbered; And (T)in the placeWhere it is said to them,“You are (U)not My people,”It will be said to them,“You are the (V)sons of the living God.”

10 (e)Yet the number of the Israeliteswill be like the sand of the sea,(Q)which cannot be measured or counted. And in the place where they were told:You are not My people, they will be called: Sons of the living God.(R)

10 so the LORD told Hosea, "Name him "Lo-ammi,' because you are not my people, and I will not be your God.

11 Then shall the sons of Judah and the sons of Israel, gather themselves together, as one, and shall appoint them one head, and come up out of the earth, - for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

11 Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

11 And the (W)sons of Judah and the sons of Israel will be (X)gathered together,And they will appoint for themselves (Y)one leader,And they will go up from the land,For great will be the day of Jezreel.

11 And the Judeans and the Israeliteswill be gathered together.(S)They will appoint for themselves a single ruler(T)and go up from(f) the land. For the day of Jezreel(U) will be great. >

11 Despite this, the number of the people of Israel will be like ocean sand, which can neither be measured nor counted. And the time will come when instead of it being said, "You are not my people,' it will be said, "You are children of the living God.'
