There is lying, and swearing, and killing, and stealing, and the committing of adultery; and blood touches blood.
And as troops of robbers wait for a man, the company of priests murder in the way of Shechem; for they committed wickedness.
For among My people are found wicked ones; they lie in wait, as one who sets snares; they set a trap, they catch men.
As a fountain keeps fresh her waters, so she keeps fresh her evil; violence and spoil is heard in her; always before Me are grief and wounds.
When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was uncovered, and the wickedness of Samaria. For they have worked falsehood. And the thief comes in, the troop of robbers plunders outside.
The pious has perished from the earth, and there is none upright among men. For they all lie in wait for blood; each one hunts his brother with a net.
And the land is defiled under its people; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, and have broken the everlasting covenant.
Hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and have come out of the waters of Judah; who swear by the name of Jehovah and make mention of the God of Israel (but not in truth nor in righteousness).
But your iniquities have come between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, from hearing.
For our transgressions are multiplied before You, and our sins testify against us. For our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;
Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in her open places, if you can find a man, if there is one who does justice, who seeks the truth; and I will pardon her.
Why shall I pardon you for this? Your sons have forsaken Me, and have sworn by No-gods. When I adjured them, then they committed adultery, and gathered themselves by troops in a harlot's house.
if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor walk after other gods to your hurt;
Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place for traveling men, that I might leave my people and go away from them! For they are all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
For the land is full of adulterers. Yes, because of cursing the land mourns; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their power is not right.
For the sins of her prophets and the iniquities of her priests, shedding the blood of the just in her midst,
And you, son of man, will you judge, will you judge the bloody city? And you shall make her know all her abominations.
A plot by her prophets is in her midst, like a roaring lion tearing the prey. They have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they multiplied her many widows in her midst.
They make the king glad with their evil, and the rulers with their lies.
They have spoken words, swearing falsely in making a covenant. So judgment springs up like hemlock in the furrows of the field.
Ephraim provoked Me to anger most bitterly; therefore he shall leave his blood on him, and his Lord shall turn his reproach to him.
Woe to those who plot wickedness and prepare evil on their beds! When the morning is light they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.
You who hate the good and love the evil; who pull their skin off them, and their flesh from their bones;
Please hear this, heads of the house of Jacob, and magistrates of the house of Israel, who hate justice and pervert all equity.
Are the treasures of wickedness still in the house of the wicked, and the short measure that is hateful?
And he said to me, This is the curse that goes forth over the face of the whole earth; for from now on everyone who steals shall be cut off according to it; and everyone who swears from now on shall be cut off according to it.
So speaks Jehovah of Hosts, saying, Judge true judgment, and practice kindness and pity, each man to his brother.
so that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Berachiah, whom you killed between the temple and the altar.
Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you have now been the betrayers and murderers;
who both killed the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, also driving us out and they do not please God and being contrary to all men,
