For the children of Israel will live many days without king, without prince, without sacrifice, without pillar, and without ephod or teraphim.

Gird yourselves with sackcloth, and lament, you priests! Wail, you ministers of the altar. Come, lie all night in sackcloth you ministers of my God! The meal offering and the drink offering are withheld from the House of your God.

Who knows whether he will turn back, feel regret and leave a blessing behind him, a meal offering and a drink offering to Jehovah your God?

Whoever burns incense is like someone who worships an idol. People have certainly chosen their own ways, and they delight in detestable things.

What purpose does frankincense come to me from Sheba and the sweet cane from a distant land? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable and your sacrifices are not pleasing to me.

Come to Bethel and transgress! Come to Gilgal and multiply transgression! Bring your sacrifices every morning and your tithes every three days.

Yes, even if you offer me your burnt offerings and meal offerings, I will not accept them. Neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.

Try asking God to show you favor. He will not answer your prayer! It will be your fault, Jehovah the Almighty declares.
