For thus says the LORD: "Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; and you shall nurse, you shall be carried upon her hip, and bounced upon her knees.

"Rejoice with him, O heavens; bow down to him, all gods, for he avenges the blood of his children and takes vengeance on his adversaries. He repays those who hate him and cleanses his people's land."

Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, for behold, I come and I will dwell in your midst, declares the LORD.

"Thus says the LORD of hosts: Peoples shall yet come, even the inhabitants of many cities.

a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel."

For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame."

and in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, "Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name."

A blessing

Thus says the LORD: "As the new wine is found in the cluster, and they say, 'Do not destroy it, for there is a blessing in it,' so I will do for my servants' sake, and not destroy them all.

And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.

And I will make them and the places all around my hill a blessing, and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing.

And as you have been a byword of cursing among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing. Fear not, but let your hands be strong."

so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.
