Desolation shall remain in the cities, and the gates shall be smitten with destruction.

Thou makest of towns, heaps of stone; and of head

The strong cities shall be desolate, and the fair cities shall be left like a wilderness. The cattle shall feed and lie there, and the sheep shall eat it up.

The palaces also shall be broken, and the greatly occupied cities desolate. The towers and bulwarks shall be become dens forevermore, the pleasure of Mules shall be turned to pasture for sheep:

Thorns shall grow in their palaces, nettles and thistles in their strongholds; that the dragons may have their pleasure therein, and that they may be a court for Ostriches.

And thereto the city was broken up: wherefore all the men of arms fled by night, by a way through a gate, between two walls hard on the king's garden: the Chaldeans lying about the city. And the king went straight toward the desert.

And when Zedekiah the king of Judah with his soldiers saw them, they fled, and departed out of the city by night through the king's garden, and through the port that is between the two walls, and so they went toward the wilderness.

So all the soldiers brake away, and fled out of the city by night through the way of the port between the two walls by the king's garden. Now the Chaldeans had compassed the city round about; yet went these men their way toward the wilderness.

Whoso breaketh the gap, he shall go before. They shall break up the port, and go in and out at it. Their king shall go before them, and the LORD shall be upon the head of them.

Therefore shall Zion, for your sakes, be plowed like a field: Jerusalem shall become a heap of stones, and the hill of the temple shall be turned to a high wood.

For the days shall come upon thee; that thy enemies shall cast a bank about thee, and compass thee round and keep thee in on every side;

And they shall fall on the edge of the sword. And they shall be led captive into all nations. And Jerusalem shall be trodden underfoot of the gentiles, until the time of the gentiles be fulfilled.

Of confusion

Wherefore the name of it is called Babel, because that the LORD there confounded the tongue of all the world; and because that the LORD, from thence, scattered them abroad upon all the earth.

"Behold, the time cometh," sayeth the LORD, "that I will visit all them whose foreskin is uncircumcised.

"Wherefore, Behold, I send unto you prophets, wise men, and scribes. And of them: some shall ye kill and crucify, and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city;

And when they have finished their testimony, the beast that came out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them: and shall overcome them, and kill them.

And in her forehead was a name written, a mystery: "Great Babylon, the mother of whoredom and abominations of the earth."

And he cried mightily with a strong voice saying, "Great Babylon is fallen is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of all foul spirits, and a cage of all unclean and hateful birds,
