Isaiah 3:21

but the father said to his servants, bring hither the finest robe, and put it on him: put a ring on his finger, and shoes on his feet.

and that the women be decent in their apparel, adorned with modesty and reserve, not with broider'd hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

when any one, adorn'd with a gold ring, and a splendid dress, enters into your assembly; and a poor man comes in meanly habited:

let their ornament consist, not in what is external, in curling the hair, in appendages of gold, or finery of dress;
