Isaiah 40:3

"I am, said he, the voice of one crying in the wilderness, clear the way of the Lord," as said the prophet Esaias.

It is written in the prophet, "behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.

At that time appeared John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea,
