Invitation To True Rewards

1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

1 “Ho! Every one who (A)thirsts, come to the waters;And you who have (B)no (a)money come, buy and eat.Come, buy (C)wine and milk(D)Without money and without cost.

1 "Come, everyone who is thirsty, come to the waters! Also, you that have no money, come, buy, and eat! Come! Buy wine and milk without money and without price.

1 “Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters;And you who have no money come, buy grain and eat.Come, buy wine and milkWithout money and without cost [simply accept it as a gift from God].(A)

2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

2 “Why do you (b)spend money for what is (E)not bread,And your wages for what does not satisfy?Listen carefully to Me, and (F)eat what is good,And (G)delight yourself in abundance.

2 Why do you spend money on what is not food,and your wages on what does not satisfy?Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,and you will enjoy the choicest of foods.(a)

2 Why spend your money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in rich food.

2 “Why do you spend money for that which is not bread,And your earnings for what does not satisfy?Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,And let your soul delight in (a)abundance.(B)

3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

3 (H)Incline your ear and come to Me.Listen, that (c)you may (I)live;And I will make (J)an everlasting covenant with you,According to the (K)faithful mercies (d)shown to David.

3 Pay attention and come to Me;listen, so that you will live.I will make an everlasting covenant with you,(B)the promises assured to David.(C)

3 Pay attention to me, come to me; and listen, so that you may live; then I'll make an everlasting covenant with you, as promised by my faithful, sure love for David.

3 “Incline your ear [to listen] and come to Me;Hear, so that your soul may live;And I will make an everlasting covenant with you,According to the faithful mercies [promised and] shown to David.(C)

4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.

4 “Behold, I have made (L)him a witness to the peoples,A (M)leader and commander for the peoples.

4 Since I have made him a witness to the peoples,(D)a leader and commander for the peoples,(E)

4 "Look! I have made him a witness to the nations, a leader and commander of the nations.

4 “Listen carefully, I have appointed (b)him [David, representing the Messiah] to be a witness to the nations [regarding salvation],A leader and commander to the peoples.

5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.

5 “Behold, you will call a (N)nation you do not know,And a nation which knows you not will (O)run to you,Because of the Lord your God, even the Holy One of Israel;For He has (P)glorified you.”

5 so you will summon a nation you do not know,(F)and nations who do not know you will run to you.(G)For the Lord your God,even the Holy One of Israel,(H)has glorified you.”(I)

5 "Look! You will call a nation that you do not know, and a nation that does not know you will run to you, because of the LORD your God, even the Holy One of Israel, for he has glorified you."

5 “In fact, you (c)[Israel] will call a nation that you do not know,And a nation that does not know you will run to you,Because of the Lord your God, even the Holy One of Israel;For He has glorified you.”

6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

6 (Q)Seek the Lord while He may be found;(R)Call upon Him while He is near.

6 Seek the Lord while He may be found;call to Him while He is near.(J)

6 "Seek the LORD while he may be found, call upon him while he is near.

6 Seek the Lord while He may be found;Call on Him [for salvation] while He is near.

7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

7 (S)Let the wicked forsake his wayAnd the unrighteous man his (T)thoughts;And let him (U)return to the Lord,And He will have (V)compassion on him,And to our God,For He will (W)abundantly pardon.

7 Let the wicked one abandon his wayand the sinful one his thoughts;(K)let him return to the Lord,so He may have compassion on him,and to our God, for He will freely forgive.(L)

7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous person his thoughts. Let him return to the LORD, So he'll have mercy upon him, and to our God, for he'll pardon abundantly.

7 Let the wicked leave (behind) his wayAnd the unrighteous man his thoughts;And let him return to the Lord,And He will have compassion (mercy) on him,And to our God,For He will abundantly pardon.

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

8 “For My thoughts are not (X)your thoughts,Nor are (Y)your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.

8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,and your ways are not My ways.”This is the Lord’s declaration.

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.

8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

9 “For (Z)as the heavens are higher than the earth,So are My ways higher than your waysAnd My thoughts than your thoughts.

9 “For as heaven is higher than earth,(M)so My ways are higher than your ways,and My thoughts than your thoughts.

9 "For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,So are My ways higher than your waysAnd My thoughts higher than your thoughts.

10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

10 “For as the (AA)rain and the snow come down from heaven,And do not return there without watering the earthAnd making it bear and sprout,And furnishing (AB)seed to the sower and bread to the eater;

10 For just as rain and snow fall from heavenand do not return therewithout saturating the earthand making it germinate and sprout,and providing seed to sowand food to eat,(N)

10 "For just as the rain and snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, yielding seed for the sower and bread for eating,

10 “For as the rain and snow come down from heaven,And do not return there without watering the earth,Making it bear and sprout,And providing seed to the sower and bread to the eater,(D)

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

11 So will My (AC)word be which goes forth from My mouth;It will (AD)not return to Me empty,Without (AE)accomplishing what I desire,And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

11 so My word that comes from My mouthwill not return to Me empty,but it will accomplish what I pleaseand will prosper in what I send it to do.”(O)

11 so will my message be that goes out of my mouth it won't return to me empty. Instead, it will accomplish what I desire, and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

11 So will My word be which goes out of My mouth;It will not return to Me void (useless, without result),Without accomplishing what I desire,And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

12 “For you will go out with (AF)joyAnd be led forth with (AG)peace;The (AH)mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you,And all the (AI)trees of the field will clap their hands.

12 You will indeed go out with joyand be peacefully guided;the mountains and the hills will break into singing before you,and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.(P)

12 "For you will go out in joy, and come back with peace; the mountains and the hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees in the fields will clap their hands.

12 “For you will go out [from exile] with joyAnd be led forth [by the Lord Himself] with peace;The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you,And all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

13 “Instead of the (AJ)thorn bush the (AK)cypress will come up,And instead of the (AL)nettle the myrtle will come up,And (e)it will be a (f)(AM)memorial to the Lord,For an everlasting (AN)sign which (AO)will not be cut off.”

13 Instead of the thornbush, a cypress will come up,and instead of the brier, a myrtle will come up;(Q)it will make a name for Yahweh(R)as an everlasting sign that will not be destroyed.

13 Instead of thornbushes, pine trees will grow, and instead of briers, myrtles will grow; and they will be a sign for the LORD, and an everlasting name that will not be cut off."

13 “Instead of the thorn bush the cypress tree will grow,And instead of the nettle the myrtle tree will grow;And it will be a memorial to the Lord,For an everlasting sign [of His mercy] which will not be cut off.”
