Shalt thou

When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide my eyes from you. Even though you offer many prayers, I will not listen because your hands are full of blood.

You will live in Zion, in Jerusalem. You will not cry anymore. Jehovah will certainly have pity on you when you cry for help. As soon as he hears you, he will answer you.

Before they call I will answer! While they are still speaking I will hear.

Jehovah's eyes watch over righteous people. His ears hear their cry for help.

Be happy with Jehovah and he will provide you with the desires of your heart.

Call on me in times of trouble. I will rescue you, and you will honor me.

If I had thought about doing anything sinful, Jehovah would not have listened to me.

When you call to me, I will answer you. I will be with you when you are in trouble. I will deliver you and honor you.

In my distress I called to Jehovah; he answered me and set me free.

Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me and I will hear you.

Ask and it will be given you. Seek and you will find. Knock and it will be opened for you.

Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us we have confidence toward God.

The yoke

Is this not the fast I choose to loosen the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free and break every yoke?

The putting

With whom are you effeminate (self-indulgent)? With whom do you open wide your mouth and offer your tongue? Are you not children of transgression, offspring of falsehood and deceit?

He winks with his eyes, he speaks with his feet, he teaches with his fingers.

Speaking

Your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers are desecrated with sin. You speak lies, and you mutter wicked things.

People speak lies to one another. They speak with flattering lips and with double-heart. (Double Heart: They say one thing but mean another.)

Therefore, the Lord Jehovah says: 'Because you have spoken falsehood and seen a lie, therefore behold, I am against you,' declares the Lord Jehovah.

For the teraphim have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie. They have told false dreams! They comfort in vain. They go their way like sheep. They are afflicted because there is no shepherd.
