But if any one of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask God who generously gives to everyone and never reproaches one with its lack, and it will be given to him.

This is not the kind of wisdom that comes down from above; no, it is earthly, human, demoniacal.

So if you, in spite of your being bad, know how to give your children what is good, how much more surely will your heavenly Father give what is good to those who keep on asking Him?

At that time Jesus said, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for concealing these matters from wise and learned men, and for revealing them to little children.

He answered: "It is you and not they who are granted the privilege of knowing the secrets of the kingdom of heaven.

So if you, in spite of your being bad, know how to give your children what is good, how much more surely will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who continue to ask Him?"

John answered, "A man cannot get anything, unless it is given to him from heaven.

God has exalted to His right hand this very One as our Leader and Saviour, in order to give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.

When they heard this, they had no answer to make, but gave God the glory, saying, "So God has given even the heathen the repentance that leads to life."

For the wages paid by sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life through union with Christ Jesus our Lord.

For just as you once disobeyed God, but now have had mercy shown you because of their disobedience,

As we have gifts that differ in accordance with the favor God has shown us, if it is that of preaching, let it be done in proportion to our faith;

For who makes you superior? And what do you have that you did not get from someone? But if you got it from someone, why do you boast as though you had not?

There are varieties of gifts, but the Spirit is the same in all;

once lived while gratifying the cravings of our lower nature, as we continued to carry out the impulses of our lower nature and its thoughts, and by nature we were exposed to God's wrath, as the rest of mankind.

Concerning this the Scripture says: "He led a host of captives, when He went up on high, and granted gifts to men."

For it has been graciously granted to you for Christ's sake, not only to trust in Him but also to suffer for Him,

For once we too were without understanding, disobedient, misled, habitual slaves to all sorts of passions and pleasures, spending our lives in malice and envy.

In this way is seen the true love, not that we loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

And this testimony is that God has given us eternal life, and this life is given through union with His Son.

The real light, which sheds light upon everyone, was just coming into the world.

Then Jesus again addressed them and said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever continues to follow me need never walk in darkness, but he will enjoy the light that means life."

For God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in my heart, to give me the light of the knowledge of God's glory, reflected on the face of Christ.

by having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, so that you may know what the hope is to which He calls you, how glorious rich God's portion in His people is,

And this is the message that we have heard from Him and now announce to you: God is light, and there is no darkness at all in Him.

The city does not need the sun or moon to shine in it, for the glory of God has lighted it, and the Lamb is its lamp.

There will be no night any longer; so they will need no lamplight nor sunlight, for the Lord God will give them light, and they will rule forever and ever.

for the gracious gifts and call of God are never taken back.

They will perish, but you always remain; they all will grow old like a coat,

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes, forever.
