And Jesus answered them, "Have faith in God.

I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling;

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Unstable as water, you shall not have preeminence, because you went up to your father's bed; then you defiled it--he went up to my couch!

so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.

These are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm. For them the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved.

These are hidden reefsat your love feasts, as they feast with you without fear, shepherds feeding themselves; waterless clouds, swept along by winds; fruitless trees in late autumn, twice dead, uprooted;
