James 2:26

For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

But would you like evidence, you empty fellow, that faith without works is useless?

So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead being by itself.

If God were to set his heart on it, and gather in his spirit and his breath,

When you ignore them, they panic. When you take away their life's breath, they die and return to dust.

Their life's breath departs, they return to the ground; on that day their plans die.

and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the life's breath returns to God who gave it.

Stop trusting in human beings, whose life's breath is in their nostrils. For why should they be given special consideration?

Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!" And after he said this he breathed his last.

They continued to stone Stephen while he prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!"

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but does not have works? Can this kind of faith save him?
