I will root out them that dwell at Ashdod, and him that holdeth the scepter of Ashkelon, and stretch out mine hand over Ekron, that the remnant of the Philistines shall perish,' sayeth the LORD.

What will ye do in time of the visitation and destruction, that shall come from far? To whom will ye run for help? Or to whom will ye give your honour, that he may keep it?

The burden of Tyre. Mourn, ye ships of Tarshish, for there cometh such destruction that ye shall not have a house to enter into. Out of the land of Chittim they have knowledge of this plague.

Assyria also shall be slain with the sword: not with a man's sword, neither shall the sword of any man devour him. And he shall flee from the slaughter, and his servants shall be taken prisoners.

The time cometh, the day draweth nigh. Whoso buyeth, let him not rejoice: he that selleth, let him not be sorry. For why? Trouble shall come in the midst of all rest:

O thou shameful wicked guide of Israel whose day is come, even the time that wickedness shall have an end:

because thou hast looked thee out vanities, and prophesied lies, that it may come upon thy neck like as upon the other ungodly which be slain: whose day came, when their wickedness was full.

Therefore thus sayeth the LORD God: Behold, I will stretch out mine hand over the Philistines, and destroy the destroyer, and cause all the remnant of the sea coast to perish.

It happened, that in the eleventh year, and the first day of the Month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I kindle a fire in Egypt, and when all her helpers are destroyed.

Be ye sure, O Israel: the time of visitation is come, the days of recompensing are at hand. As for the prophet, ye hold him for a fool; and him that is rich in the spirit, for a mad man: so great is your wickedness and malice.

Thou Tyre and Sidon and all the borders of the Philistines: what have ye to do with me? Will ye defy me? Well, if ye will needs defy me, I shall recompense you, even upon your head, and that right shortly:

The borders of Hamath shall be hard thereby, Tyre also and Sidon, for they are very wise.

For these be the days of vengeance, to fulfill all that are written.
