For messengers are coming, heralding disaster, from the city of Dan and from the hills of Ephraim.

They named it Dan after their ancestor, who was one of Israel's sons. But the city's name used to be Laish.

All the Israelites from Dan to Beer Sheba and from the land of Gilead left their homes and assembled together before the Lord at Mizpah.

I looked at the mountains and saw that they were shaking. All the hills were swaying back and forth!

When the mountains see you, they shake. The torrential downpour sweeps through. The great deep shouts out; it lifts its hands high.

Fathers will hear the hoofbeats of the enemies' horses, the clatter of their chariots and the rumbling of their wheels. They will not turn back to save their children because they will be paralyzed with fear.

The horses' hooves pounded the ground; the stallions galloped madly.

He shouts a battle cry against the sea and makes it dry up; he makes all the rivers run dry. Bashan and Carmel wither; the blossom of Lebanon withers.

The chariot drivers will crack their whips; the chariot wheels will shake the ground; the chariot horses will gallop; the war chariots will bolt forward!
