Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

Not for any injustice in mine hands: also my prayer is pure.

if thou wouldst put away the wickedness which thou hast in hand, so that no ungodliness dwelt in thy house;

The ungodly despaireth all the days of his life, and the number of a tyrant's years is unknown.

"But I know what ye think; yea, and what ye imagine against me unrighteously.

Is not thy wickedness great, and thine ungracious deeds innumerable?

My righteous dealing will I keep fast, and not forsake it; for my conscience reproveth me not in all my conversation.

"For I delivered the poor when he cried, and the fatherless that wanted help.

O LORD my God, if I have done any such thing, or if there be any wickedness in my hands,

And though all this be come upon us, yet do we not forget thee, nor behave ourselves unfaithfully in thy covenant.

If thou wouldest now resort unto God betimes, and make thy humble prayer to the Almighty;

If I incline unto wickedness with my heart, the LORD will not hear me.

The LORD abhorreth the sacrifice of the ungodly; but the prayer of the righteous is acceptable to him.

I will, therefore, that the men pray every where, lifting up pure hands without wrath, or doubting.
