And that thou hast filled me with wrinkles, my flesh is witness; and my leanness riseth up against me and beareth witness thereof in my face.

Thou bringest fresh witnesses against me, and thy wrath increasest thou upon me; very many are the plagues that I am in.

I went out full: but the LORD hath brought me home empty. Why should ye then call me Naomi: seeing the LORD hath humbled me, and the Almighty hath brought me unto adversity?"

My bone hangeth to my skin, and my flesh is away; there is left me only the skin about my teeth.

And he gave them their desire, but sent leanness withal into their soul.

My knees are weak through fasting; my flesh is dried up for want of fatness.

Therefore shall the LORD of Hosts send him poverty in his riches, and burn up his power, as it were with a fire.

We heard songs sung to the praise of the righteous, from all the ends of the world. And I said, "O mine unfruitfulness! O my poverty! Woe is me! The transgressors have offended; the transgressors have grievously offended!"

to make it unto himself a glorious congregation without spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it should be holy and without blame.
