For what is the hope of the ungodly, when God cutteth him off, when +God taketh away his soul?
I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading like a green tree in its native soil:
For I was envious at the arrogant, seeing the prosperity of the wicked.
When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity flourish, it is that they may be destroyed for ever.
Righteous art thou, Jehovah, when I plead with thee; yet will I speak with thee of thy judgments. Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they at ease that deal very treacherously?
Cursed be the man that maketh a graven or molten image, an abomination to Jehovah, a work of the craftsman's hand, and putteth it up secretly! And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.
Let their habitation be desolate; let there be no dweller in their tents.
For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his homestead become desolate, and let there be no dweller in it; and, Let another take his overseership.
Their seed is established with them in their sight, and their offspring before their eyes.
