but it is man, that is born unto misery, like as the sparks fly up out of the hot coals.

Man that is born of a woman hath but a short time to live, and is full of divers miseries.

And unto Adam he said, "Forasmuch as thou hast obeyed the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree of which I commanded thee, saying 'See thou eat not thereof' cursed be the earth for thy sake. In sorrow shalt thou eat thereof all days of thy life:

Thou hast set our misdeeds before thee, and our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

All things are so hard, that no man can express them. The eye is not satisfied with sight; the ear is not filled with hearing.

For what getteth a man of all the labor and travail of his mind, that he taketh under the Sun,

Like as he came naked out of his mother's womb, so goeth he thither again, and carryeth nothing away with him of all his labour.

There hath none other temptation taken you, such as followeth the nature of man. God is faithful, which shall not suffer you to be tempted above your strength: but shall in the midst of the temptation make a way to escape out.
