Now the passover of the Jews was near; and many went up to Jerusalem out of the country before the passover, that they might purify themselves.
Now a certain one was sick, Lazarus from Bethany, of the village of Mary and her sister Martha.
And, leaving them, He went forth out of the city to Bethany, and lodged there.
And He entered into Jerusalem, into the temple; and, having looked around on all things, the hour being late, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.
And He led them as far as to Bethany; and, lifting up His hands, He blessed them.
Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was near.
