He came to Jesus by night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God; for no man can do these miracles which you do unless God is with him.
Is it not true that not any of the rulers or of the Pharisees have believed into him?
Then many of the Jews who came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on Him.
And after these things, Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus (but secretly for fear of the Jews) begged of Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus. And Pilate gave permission. Then he came and took the body of Jesus.

However, no one spoke openly of Him, because of the fear of the Jews.
His parents spoke these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone confessed that He was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
They shall put you out of the synagogue. But an hour is coming that everyone who kills you will think that he bears God service.
The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Jehovah shall be safe.
Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is My Law; do not fear the reproach of men, nor be afraid of their revilings.
And of whom have you been afraid or feared, that you have lied and have not remembered Me, nor laid it to your heart? Have I not been silent, even from forever, and you did not fear Me?
Hear the Word of Jehovah, you who tremble at His Word; your brothers who hated you, who cast you out for My name's sake, said, Let Jehovah be glorified. But He will appear to your joy, and they will be ashamed.
And Peter sat outside in the court. And a girl came to him, saying, You also were with Jesus of Galilee.
Blessed are you when men shall hate you, and when they shall cut you off, and when they shall reproach you and shall cast out your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man.
Then indeed they departed from the presence of the sanhedrin, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to be shamed for His name.
Beloved, do not be astonished at the fiery trial which is to try you, as though a strange thing happened to you,
