Summary

Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

The feast

And Easter, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.
"Ye know that after two days shall be Easter, and the son of man shall be delivered to be crucified."
After two days followed Easter, and the days of sweet bread. And the high priests and the scribes sought means, how they might take him by craft and put him to death.

Knew

Then Jesus said unto them, "My time is not yet come; your time is always ready.
These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple. And no man laid hands on him; For his time was not yet come.
Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours in the day? If a man walk in the day he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
And Jesus answered them saying, "The hour is come that the son of man must be glorified.
These words spake Jesus and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, "Father, the hour is come glorify thy son that thy son may glorify thee:
Then Jesus, knowing all things that should come on him, went forth and said unto them, "Whom seek ye?"
Then came he to his disciples and said unto them, "Sleep henceforth, and take your rest. Take heed: the hour is at hand, and the son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of sinners.
And it followed, when the time was come that he should be received up, then he set his face to go to Jerusalem:
And he said unto them, "Go ye and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and heal the people today and tomorrow, and the third day I make an end.
When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched not forth hands against me. But this is even your very hour, and the power of darkness."

Depart

Jesus, knowing that the father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;
"Ye have heard how I said unto you, 'I go and come again unto you.' If ye loved me, ye would verily rejoice, because I said I go unto the father. For the father is greater than I.
But now go I my way to him that sent me, and none of you asketh me, 'Whither goest thou?'
And now glorify me, thou father, with thine own self, with the glory which I had with thee yer the world was.

Having

A new commandment give I unto you: that ye love together: as I have loved you, that even so ye love one another.
"AS the father hath loved me, even so have I loved you. Continue in my love.
I pray for them, and I pray not for the world: but for them which thou hast given me, for they are thine,
Even so shall the LORD now also appear unto me from far, and say, 'I love thee with an everlasting love, therefore do I spread my mercy before thee.'
Nevertheless, in all these things we overcome strongly through his help that loved us.
Husbands: love your wives, even as Christ loved the congregation, and gave himself for it,
We love him, because he loved us first.
and from Jesus Christ which is a faithful witness, and first begotten of the dead: and Lord over the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

Unto

teaching them to observe all things, whatsoever I commanded you. And lo, I am with you always even until the end of the world."
which shall strengthen you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But Christ, as a son, hath rule over the house, whose house we are, so that we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of that hope, unto the end.
Yea, and we desire that every one of you show the same diligence, to the establishing of hope, even unto the end:
Wherefore, gird up the loins of your minds, be sober, and trust perfectly on the grace that is brought unto you by the declaring of Jesus Christ;
