John 14:15

“If you love Me, you will keep My commands.

This is how we know that we love God’s children when we love God and obey His commands.

Matthew 10:37

The person who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; the person who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

This is how we are sure that we have come to know Him: by keeping His commands.
