Peter Denies Jesus The Second And Third Times

²⁶ One of the high priest's slaves, who was a kinsman of the one whose ear Peter had cut off, said, "Did I not see you in the garden with Him?" ²⁷ Then Peter again denied it, and at that moment a cock crowed. ²⁸ Then they took Jesus from Caiaphas to the governor's palace. It was early in the morning, and they would not go into the governor's palace themselves, in order not to be defiled, so as to be unfit to eat the Passover supper.
