John 18:39

But ye have a custom that I release some one to you at the passover; will ye therefore that I release unto you the king of the Jews?

Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release one prisoner to the crowd, whom they would.

But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds that they should beg for Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

But at the feast he released to them one prisoner, whomsoever they begged of him.

Having chastised him therefore, I will release him.
